Dan Deconstructed.

Dan Deconstructed was my capstone project for graphic design. We were free to choose a subject that represented us, or that we thought was worth exploring. I chose Wabi Sabi. Wabi Sabi represents a comprehensive Japanese world view or aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. It’s sometimes described as one of beauty that is “imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete”. I chose raw denim as my vessel to educate others on the concept. The lasting touch we leave on our closest possessions can be seen in any number of things, but to me, my jeans were the best way to tell the story.

I created a guide site for the project explaining the various processes behind both the denim and Wabi Sabi. See it here.
